The Clayton Clippers will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the West Deptford Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Clayton is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, Clayton was fully in charge, breezing past Camden Academy Charter 49-10 at home. The win was just what Clayton needed coming off of a 74-48 defeat in their prior contest.
It was another big night for Rainelle Blocker, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Clayton's points. Jordyn Jones was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, West Deptford was beaten by Haddonfield 54-25 on Thursday. West Deptford has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The victory got Clayton back to even at 2-2. As for West Deptford, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
