The Seven Lakes Spartans stacked a 22nd blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 85-41 win over Katy at home. Winning may never get old, but Seven Lakes sure is getting used to it with their 18th in a row.
Leading Seven Lakes to victory were Madison Carlton and Justice Carlton. Carlton dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds, while Carlton scored 26 points along with two steals. Carlton has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Caitlyn Quintero, who scored eight points along with six steals.
Seven Lakes is on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 23 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 26-8 record this season. As for Katy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-10.
Seven Lakes will head out on the road to square off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Cinco Ranch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Tuesday. As for Katy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Katy Taylor is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road.
