East Webster have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They will take on Leflore County at 7:00 PM. East Webster will be strutting in after a win while Leflore County will be stumbling in from a loss.
East Webster took their match against Shaw last Friday by a conclusive 29-6 score. East Webster were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Meanwhile, Leflore County found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 14-48 punch to the gut against Calhoun City. Leflore County were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 8-35.
Leflore County's defeat took them down to 4-6 while East Webster's victory pulled them up to 5-5. In East Webster's victory, sophomore Steven Betts picked up 65 yards on the ground and accumulated 84 passing yards and sophomore Tyrik Pittman rushed for 90 yards and 1 touchdown. We'll see if Leflore County have a strategy for dealing with them or if they lead their team to another successful outing.
