Patagonia is 0-7 against Ray since April of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Lobos will host the Bearcats at 3:45 p.m. Patagonia has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Patagonia fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against St. David on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.

Kannon Shore was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. He is becoming a predictor of Patagonia's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 3-5 when he doesn't). Shore was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run and one double.
Shore wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Patrick Rodhe, who went 4-for-5 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Another was Miguel Albarron, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Ray never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Miami. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Ty Chesnut was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That stolen base was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Chester, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Ray always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .650. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.
Ray pushed their record up to 11-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Patagonia, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Patagonia has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Ray struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Patagonia might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Ray in their previous meeting last Monday. Can the Lobos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
