After losing to the South Decatur Cougars the last time they met, the Henryville Hornets decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Henryville skirted past South Decatur 55-52. The win made it back-to-back wins for Henryville.
South Decatur lost on Wednesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Makalya Somers, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Somers scored a full 26.9% of South Decatur's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Eden, who scored 12 points.
Henryville's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-3. As for South Decatur, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Henryville and Crawford County will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. South Decatur and Triton Central will round out the year against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Triton Central is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
