The Holy Family Tigers had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They really took it to Lincoln for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-0 win at home. The result was nothing new for Holy Family, who have now won four games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Holy Family had a senior duo take command as Rylan Cooney threw for 206 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes and Simon J litzau rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns. J litzau was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 68 yards. Dominic Gabriel was another key contributor, rushing for 65 yards and a touchdown.
Holy Family's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. As for Lincoln, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Family will square off against Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kennedy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 159th, while Holy Family is ranked 25th). As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to face off against Northfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
