This season hasn't been kind to the Piper Bengals, who are still winless after their seventh match. The contest between Piper and Chaminade-Madonna wasn't particularly close, with Piper falling 60-43.
Michael Watson jr. was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with five rebounds and five steals for Chaminade-Madonna. Watson jr. also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. Isaac Mothersill was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Piper's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-7. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points per game. As for Chaminade-Madonna, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Piper will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Stranahan at 7:30 p.m. Stranahan presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Piper in Florida (Stranahan is ranked 55th, while Piper is ranked 663rd). Chaminade-Madonna won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Northeast at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. Northeast knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Chaminade-Madonna likes a good challenge.
