Rocky Mountain is 1-9 against Fossil Ridge since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Rocky Mountain Lobos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fossil Ridge SaberCats at 5:30 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Rocky Mountain earned a 53-40 win over Monarch.
It was another big night for Meela Delap, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last three games she's played. Kenna Wagner was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight steals and seven assists.
Meanwhile, Fossil Ridge made easy work of Legacy on Saturday and carried off a 58-36 victory.
Natalie Lin went supernova for Fossil Ridge, scoring 22 points along with six assists and five rebounds. It was the first time this season that Lin scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Lauren Smith, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Rocky Mountain's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. As for Fossil Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Rocky Mountain have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Fossil Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
