The Barnwell Warhorses's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 71-47 walloping at the hands of Hampton County. Barnwell has not had much luck with Hampton County recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Barnwell's loss came despite strong showings from Vashahd Scofield and Mican Bradley. Scofield scored 11 points, while Bradley scored nine points. Bradley's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Jamarcus Coleman was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Kavon Chisolm was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks for Hampton County. Another player making a difference was Xaviar Garvin, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Barnwell has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Hampton County, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barnwell will take on Edisto at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Edisto is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Hampton County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Woodland is ranked 53rd, while Hampton County is ranked 61st).
