Potomac School and Maret are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Panthers will head out to square off against the Frogs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Potomac School will be strutting in after a victory while Maret will be coming in after a loss.
Potomac School is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Georgetown Day 19-3 on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Panthers with their most commanding win of the season.

Potomac School got a great performance from Gavin Speigel as he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. What's more, Speigel posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025.
On the hitting side, Wyatt Overman was a standout: he fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-5. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ian Parrish, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Potomac School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in ten consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Maret fell victim to Jackson-Reed and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Frogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Potomac School's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Maret, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Potomac School hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Maret struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
