Toledo is 6-1 against Mossyrock since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Riverhawks will be playing at home against the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Toledo's favor as the squad sits on 14 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Mossyrock has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Toledo will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Pe Ell/Willapa Valley, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Riverhawks came out on top against Pe Ell/Willapa Valley by a score of 6-1 on Friday.
Brenna Carver looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Camryn Hurley, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Taysia Miller, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Mossyrock sidestepped Naselle for a 6-5 victory. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Comets: they've now won seven in a row.
Zoella Zavodsky made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off nine hits. Zavodsky was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Sadi Rashoff and Brooke Schwartz did most of the damage at the plate: Rashoff went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Schwartz went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That double was Rashoff's first of the season.
Toledo's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Mossyrock, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Toledo hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .459. However, it's not like Mossyrock struggles in that department as they've averaged .329. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Toledo beat Mossyrock 13-9 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Riverhawks repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
