After a string of four wins, The East Lake Eagles''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 22-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clearwater. East Lake was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clearwater apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Although East Lake took the loss, they still got scores from Brody Church and Tyler Tremblay.
Clearwater's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ti'lan Mcgee, who rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Jaylen White, who rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
East Lake now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Clearwater, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
East Lake will head out on the road to face off against Palm Harbor University at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Clearwater, they will be playing at home against Berkeley Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Berkeley Prep is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
