After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hanna, the Economedes Jaguars were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They came out on top against Grulla by a score of 35-25. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Economedes also won the last time the pair played back in November.
Economedes' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Saraya Quevedo led the charge by scoring 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. Alessey Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring two points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Economedes' win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Grulla, they bumped their record down to 8-8 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Economedes will take on Pharr-San Juan-Alamo at 4:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Grulla, they will head out on the road to face off against Harmony School of Innovation at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
