The New Prairie Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 61-27 loss at the hands of Penn. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for New Prairie in their matchups with Penn: they've now lost nine in a row.
New Prairie's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jolie Johns, who scored ten points, and Morgan White who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
It was another big night for Jessa Troy, who scored 20 points for Penn. That makes it three consecutive games in which Troy has scored at least 25% of Penn's points. Another player making a difference was Anna McCullough, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
New Prairie's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-4. As for Penn, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
New Prairie will face off against Glenn at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glenn is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Penn, they will head out on the road to face off against South Bend St. Joseph at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully South Bend St. Joseph focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday.
