The Osceola Kowboys lost against the Davenport Broncos back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Osceola was dealt a 57-23 loss at the hands of the Broncos. Osceola was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-11.
Osceola lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jewelie Lazo, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Sippio, who scored six points.
Sorayah Emilien was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 steals for Davenport. That makes it four consecutive games in which Emilien has scored at least a third of Davenport's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Kim, who scored 17 points along with three blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Osceola and nudges their season record down to 4-16. As for Davenport, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.
Osceola won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (Poinciana is ranked 501st, while the Kowboys are ranked 499th). As for Davenport, they will be playing at home against the Storm at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Celebration is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
