St. Michael Academy took their match at home on Saturday with ease, bagging a 34-3 victory over Xaverian. Mt. St. Michael Academy's win was all the more impressive since Xaverian was averaging only 14.08 points allowed on the season.
Carl Shaw was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 47 yards and three touchdowns.
Cardinal Hayes' victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Mt. St. Michael Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
Thursday's match might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Cardinal Hayes has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 246.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Mt. St. Michael Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 150.6 per game. It's looking like Thursday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
