Given Coolidge's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while American Leadership Academy - Anthem South is ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Coolidge was led to victory by Tory Gholston and Ja'kwan Jordan. Gholston scored 15 points along with seven assists and two steals, while Jordan scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Jordan has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times he's played. Kelshawn Dixon-Wright was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Coolidge pushed their record up to 14-4 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.22 points. As for American Leadership Academy - Anthem South, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
