While losing is never fun, Brookwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while River Ridge is ranked 41st).
River Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Makayla Roberson led the charge by scoring 18 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Roberson has scored at least 25% of River Ridge's points. Another player making a difference was Kayla Cleaveland, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds.
Brookwood has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for River Ridge, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Brookwood will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Parkview at 6:00 p.m. Parkview has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for River Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Sequoyah at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
