The Basehor-Linwood Bobcats will square off against the Saint Thomas Aquinas Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Basehor-Linwood had no problem doing just that on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 22-20 victory over Louisburg. The win made it back-to-back wins for Basehor-Linwood.
Basehor-Linwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady Vandonge, who rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 122 yards and a touchdown. Kaleb Scott did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 85 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Saint Thomas Aquinas faced Bishop Miege in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Saint Thomas Aquinas walked away with a 14-7 victory over Bishop Miege on Friday.
Saint Thomas Aquinas can attribute much of their success to Gianni Rizzi, who rushed for 146 yards.
Basehor-Linwood's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Saint Thomas Aquinas, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
