After losing to the Mendon Unity Mustangs the last time they met, the Lewistown Indians decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Lewistown managed a 55-50 victory over Mendon Unity on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lewistown.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lewistown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lexi Kruzan, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Abby Wiegand was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
The win got Lewistown back to even at 9-9. As for Mendon Unity, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-10.
Lewistown is on the road again on Saturday and play against Brown County at 6:30 p.m. on January 6th. Brown County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 178 points over their last three matchups. As for Mendon Unity, they will take on Liberty at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Liberty will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 482nd, while Mendon Unity is ranked 237th).
