The Moorefield Yellow Jackets''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Pendleton County 62-58. Yes, you read that score correctly, and yes, they were playing football.
Moorefield's loss was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 Tucker County and 7-1 Strasburg (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 71.2% over those games). As for Pendleton County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4.
Moorefield will be playing at home against Greenbrier West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenbrier West will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. Pendleton County will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Cameron at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Cameron has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 354 points over their last seven matchups.
