Winters typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday Pierce proved too difficult a challenge. Pierce blew past Winters 32-7. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pierce.
Pierce's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Aguirre, who rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. The team's defense also helped out by holding Winters to a paltry 226 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Pierce's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Jose Pinon was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Meanwhile, Lassen entered their tilt with Anderson with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Lassen claimed a resounding 39-8 win over Anderson at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-0.
