The Orlando Science Orcas will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Circle Christian Centurions at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Orlando Science suffered their biggest loss since November 16, 2023 back in December of 2023. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Merritt Island Christian an easy 54-33 win.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Glen Wickersham, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Myles Gipson, who scored five points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Circle Christian pushed their score all the way to 61 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 72-61 to Forest Lake Academy.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Lucas Valdes, who scored 14 points. Cole Bell was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds.
Orlando Science's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-7. As for Circle Christian, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Orlando Science have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 22.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Circle Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 28.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
