There's no place like home for the Peachtree Academy Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They breezed by Skipstone Academy at home to the tune of 65-32. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Peachtree Academy has posted yet this season.
Peachtree Academy had a senior duo take command as Noah Rodriguez scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals and Tom Mitchell scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Rodriguez hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Nate Occilien-Similien, who scored six points along with five rebounds and five blocks.
Despite the loss, Skipstone Academy still got an impressive performance from Griffith Teate, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Teate hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelvin "Deuce" Searcy, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Peachtree Academy's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Skipstone Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Peachtree Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Providence Classical Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. As for Skipstone Academy, they will be playing at home against CrossPointe Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. CrossPointe Christian Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
