They took a 66-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shabach Christian Academy. The game was a 27-27 toss-up at halftime, but Mt. Zion Prep Academy was outscored by Shabach Christian Academy in the second.
Despite the loss, Mt. Zion Prep Academy still got an impressive performance from Jniya Weaver, who scored 26 points. Weaver scored a full 44.1% of Mt. Zion Prep Academy's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Makyiah Ward was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Mt. Zion Prep Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-8. As for Shabach Christian Academy, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Mt. Zion Prep Academy will take on Southeastern Prep Academy - Regional - Aces in a holiday battle at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday at. Shabach Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Dream City Christian National at 4:30 p.m. on December 18th. Dream City Christian National comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
