A physical game saw Long Island Lutheran jump out to a 15-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Crusaders extended their lead to as much as 14 points in the second quarter before Don Bosco Prep cut the deficit in half to trail 24-16 at the halftime intermission.
Don Bosco Prep used a 6-0 run late in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 35-33 with approximately 30 seconds remaining in the period.

A four-point play from
Brady Loughlin narrowed the lead to 35-31 before Isaiah Brown broke free for a transition layup to cut the margin to two points with just over 30 seconds to go. A pair of free throws from
Dylan Mingo gave the the Crusaders a 37-33 lead at the end of the third quarter.
Following a mid-range jumper from
Isaiah Brown to open the scoring in the final quarter, Long Island Lutheran responded with a 7-0 run to stretch its lead to 44-35 sparked by a 3-pointer from the corner by Dylan Mingo followed by a free-throw line jumper and banked-in floater from Kayden Mingo.
Each team scored on their next three possessions before five-star Rutgers commit
Dylan Harper of Don Bosco Prep went on a 7-0 solo run to cut the deficit to two with just over two minutes remaining in the contest.
After a 6-2 spurt for the Crusaders to extend their advantage to two possessions, Loughlin connected on a 3-pointer from the left wing with 41 seconds remaining to cut the deficit to 56-53.
Following a pair of missed free throws on the other end, four-star sophomore
Keiner Asprilla threw down a dunk off a missed layup to cut the lead to 56-55 with 10.4 seconds to go in the game.
After five-star senior
V.J. Edgecombe connected on a pair of free throws with 6.7 remaining to stretch the lead back out to 58-55, a last-second shot attempt from Loughlin was off the mark.
Edgecombe finished with 15 points in the win, including 11 points in the second half.
Don Bosco Prep (2-1) looks to rebound against the loser of Link Academy and Columbus in
the City of Palms Classic fifth-place semifinal contest Friday at 1 p.m. ET.
