Rancho has gone a perfect 3-0 against Pinecrest Academy Cadence recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Rams will take on the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Rancho is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
While Rancho's win against Cimarron-Memorial wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams had just enough and edged out the Spartans 4-3 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won five in a row.

Brooklynn Braun made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 16 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Annalise Stout was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Layla Stout was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Rancho always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Pinecrest Academy Cadence came up short against Durango on Friday, falling 24-13. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Emily Shelley and Destiny Aguilar stepped up to the plate in a big way. Shelley went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Aguilar scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That triple marked the first that Shelley hit this season. Another player making a difference was Rorrie Mize, who scored a run and stole two bases.
Rancho now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.
Pinecrest Academy Cadence's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Rancho has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, though, as they've been averaging only 3.4 strikeouts. Will Rancho keep running through batters, or will the Cougars buck the trend?
Everything went Rancho's way against Pinecrest Academy Cadence in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Rancho made off with a 17-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
