It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Timpview Thunderbirds had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against Bountiful by a score of 23-15. The win was familiar territory for Timpview who now have nine in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Timpview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Quezon Villa, who picked up 115 receiving yards and a touchdown. Tru To'a was another key contributor, rushing for 95 yards and a touchdown.
Timpview's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Bountiful's QB won't forget Matthias Lesa anytime soon given Lesa sacked him twice.
Timpview has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 11-2 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.3 points per game. As for Bountiful, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5.
Timpview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bountiful also has no future games currently scheduled.
