2A Tri-River recap October 8, 2013
Santiam was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to second in 2A Tri-River. The Wolverines beat Waldport 27-18 earlier in the week.
Regis took down Culver 42-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jeremiah Grieser ran for 211 yards and caught 1 pass for 15 yards during the win.
Grieser was a passing and rushing force as the Rams topped the Bulldogs. Grieser's key target this week was Zach Gescher, who caught 2 passes for 30 yards.
Grieser was a beast in the backfield as Regis defeated Culver.
Grieser was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 211 yards as Tom Beckett's team fell to Santiam. Teammate Gescher added to the ground attack by rushing for 99 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Waldport's Trenton Marquart and Pruett have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Marquart has thrown for 714 yards this season, while Pruett has 18 catches for 314 yards. The Rams' Grieser leads the league in rushing yards with 1,149.
A big matchup in 2A Tri-River this week will be when Regis takes on Toledo. The Rams are currently in first, while the Boomers are in fifth.
Regis led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Brian Silbernagel's team. Grieser caught 1 pass for 15 yards in the win.
