The Windham Whippets won the last time they faced the Ledyard Colonels, and things went their way on Friday too. Windham strolled past Ledyard with points to spare, taking the game 68-54.
Windham's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tahj Jones, who scored ten points along with nine assists and six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Jones posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Malcolm Hunter, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Windham now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Ledyard, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Windham will look to defend their home court on Monday against Windham RVT at 5:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Windham RVT is ranked 101st, while Windham is ranked 79th). Ledyard will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wheeler at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
