After flying high against Raytown South last Friday, Belton came back down to earth. The Pirates lost 15-4 to the Raymore-Peculiar Panthers on Wednesday. The Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Belton now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Raymore-Peculiar, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-6.

Looking ahead, Belton will head out to take on Harrisonville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Raymore-Peculiar, they will take on Blue Springs South at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
