The Beachside Barracudas waltzed into their game on Thursday with 12 straight wins but they left with 13. They walked away with a 49-39 victory over Episcopal School of Jacksonville. Given Beachside's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Episcopal School of Jacksonville is ranked 233rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kendall Kane was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Madilyn (Madi) Ray, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and six blocks.
Beachside's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Episcopal School of Jacksonville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beachside will square off against Wolfson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Wolfson has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Episcopal School of Jacksonville, they will head out on the road to face off against Bartram Trail at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Bartram Trail focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Tuesday.
