The Knoxville Catholic Fighting Irish waltzed into Friday's matchup with two straight wins but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Gainesville 68-37 on the road. The result was nothing new for Knoxville Catholic, who have now won three matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.
Knoxville Catholic was led to victory by Cade Murphy and Carson Asbaty. Murphy scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds, while Asbaty dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. The match was Murphy's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Juice Eleam, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Knoxville Catholic's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Gainesville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Knoxville Catholic is on the road again on Saturday and play against St. Francis at 10:30 a.m. on December 9th. Hopefully St. Francis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday. Gainesville will be home for the holidays to greet Sandy Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sandy Creek has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 407 points over their last six matchups.
