Piketon has gone a perfect 3-0 against Southeastern recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Redstreaks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 5:15 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Piketon comes in on eight and Southeastern on three.
Southeastern's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Piketon hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Redstreaks didn't even let Zane Trace on the board on Wednesday, marking the Redstreaks' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Redstreaks, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Kyndall Carroll, who gave up just a hit to keep Zane Trace off the board. Carroll has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Piketon got a massive performance out of Addy Blakeman, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Jaylin Forbes was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Southeastern beat Peebles 6-2 on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly four runs.
Kylie Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 12 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ally Fisher, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Williams, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.
Piketon's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. As for Southeastern, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
Southeastern's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Piketon has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. It's a different story for Southeastern, though, as they've only averaged .321. Will they be able to contain Piketon's hitters?
Piketon beat Southeastern 5-1 when the teams last played on April 7th. Will the Redstreaks repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
