Little Chute extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-9. They fell 12-8 to the Oconto Falls Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-2 back in April.
Bella Pfrang made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Madalyn Bork also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
As for Oconto Falls, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
On Oconto Falls' side, Katelyn Kurek made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits. Kurek was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Oconto Falls let Amelia Danielczak and Izzy Otto run wild. Danielczak went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two triples, and three runs, while Otto went 4-for-5 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Danielczak is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Laughrin, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Little Chute will face off against Waupaca at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Comets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.64 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Oconto Falls, they will take on Clintonville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
