The Hatton Hornets are on the road again on Thursday and plays the Elkmont Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st.
Last Monday, Hatton had to suffer through a rough 64-37 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs.
Meanwhile, Elkmont scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Tanner 67-16 on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-10.
Elkmont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Darby Davis, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. Savannah Williams was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Hatton dropped their record down to 8-11 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Elkmont, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-16.
Hatton didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Red Devils in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, but they still walked away with a 63-57 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Elkmont's Tylee Thomas, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds. Now that she won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Hatton to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
