The Northwest Christian Crusaders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Chino Valley on the road to the tune of 64-26. Given Northwest Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Chino Valley is ranked 248th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Katelyn Best continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Maddy Lyons, who scored five points along with six assists and five steals.
Northwest Christian is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Chino Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Northwest Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Fountain Hills at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Northwest Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Chino Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Camp Verde at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Camp Verde focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
