The Sheridan Blackhawks entered their tilt with the Carroll Cougars with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Sheridan came out on top in a nail-biter against Carroll on Friday and snuck past 75-72. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Sheridan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler Garner, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Damon Winston, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.
Sheridan is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Carroll, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sheridan will take on Delphi Community at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Sheridan's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Carroll, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Frankfort at 7:30 p.m. Carroll knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Frankfort likes a good challenge.
