Rocksprings has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Medina Bobcats at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Rocksprings' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven games.
Rocksprings put the finishing touches on their 13th blowout victory of the season on Friday. Everything went their way against Leakey as Rocksprings made off with a 79-53 victory. Given Rocksprings' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 631st, while the Eagles are ranked 1725th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rocksprings relied on the efforts of Hunter Taylor, who shot 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 23 points and 18 rebounds, and Jeremiah Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ty Hendley, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and seven assists.
Medina only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 26-point they dealt the Eagles on Tuesday. Medina put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 72-46 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Medina.
Rocksprings pushed their record up to 22-4 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.8 points per game. As for Medina, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7.
Rocksprings strolled past the Bobcats in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 89-70. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rocksprings since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
