Defiance has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Bluffton Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Thursday, Defiance lost to Memorial on the road by a decisive 52-35 margin. Defiance has not had much luck with Memorial recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Defiance had strong showings from Caroline McDonald, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds, and Samantha Hohenberger, who scored nine points. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Meanwhile, Bluffton was beaten by Jefferson 74-43 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Bluffton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 535th, while Jefferson is ranked 32nd).
Defiance's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-8. As for Bluffton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
