Basketball Recap: Freeman Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

Freeman had won six straight home games dating back to last season and David Walter did his part to make it seven on Friday. The Freeman Flyers put the hurt on the Avon Pirates with a sharp 64-39 victory thanks in part to Walter, who went 9 of 14 on his way to 22 points and six boards. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Luke Miller, who posted seven points and five rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in February of 2024.

Freeman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Avon, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Freeman will take on Alcester-Hudson at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Avon, they will face off against Scotland/Menno at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
