A well-balanced attack led the Holmes County Blue Devils over the Bethlehem Wildcats in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Holmes County blew the Wildcats out of the water with a 60-21 final score. Given Holmes County's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 347th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Holmes County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Oost out in front who scored 18 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Oost scored 15 or more points. Savannah Goodman was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Holmes County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Bethlehem, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Holmes County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Braves at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Walton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Thursday. As for Bethlehem, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Graceville will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
