Abernathy extended the longest winning streak in 2A-2 Region I District 2 this week by beating Olton, 42-0. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Antelopes.
Tulia led the league in scoring this week after putting up 51 points on Roosevelt.
Roosevelt's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Derek Coppedge has thrown for 1628 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Karl Nunes has 34 catches for 509 yards. Kevin Lamae leads the league in rushing with 226 yards.
Two of the top units in 2A-2 Region I District 2 will face off this week when the Eagles take on Abernathy. Roosevelt's offense has scored 152 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Darrell Daily's team has allowed only 56 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Antelopes take on Greg Poynor's team. Abernathy is in second place, while the Eagles are in fifth place.
