District 10 Region 5 AAA recap Oct. 9, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Oil City, who took down 312th ranked Meadville, 35-21.
Slippery Rock extended the longest winning streak in District 10 Region 5 AAA this week by beating Warren, 42-20. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Rockets.
Franklin's Kyle Ritchey and Forrest Wested have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Ritchey has thrown for 883 yards this season, while Wested, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 20 catches for 348 yards. DuBois's Garrett Brown leads the league in rushing yards with 846.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Bulldogs take on the Knights. At the moment, Meadville is in fifth, while Franklin is in seventh.
The Oilers moved up to 370 from 426 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in District 10 Region 5 AAA. Oil City climbed the ranks as a result of a 35-21 win over Ken Achenbach's team.
