The Pateros Billygoats/Nannies managed to keep up with the Curlew Cougars until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Pateros took a serious blow against Curlew, falling 86-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Pateros has suffered since December 28, 2023.
Logan Thompson was his usual excellent self, scoring 41 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals for Curlew. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thompson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Logan Ringstad, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Pateros has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Curlew, their win bumped their record up to 6-13.
Pateros' road trip will continue as they head out to face Moses Lake Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. As for Curlew, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Selkirk at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Selkirk is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
