Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bend). They blew past the Redmond Panthers 16-1 on Wednesday. The victory was nothing new for the Lava Bears as they're now sitting on three straight.
Taylor Aldrich was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Bend got a massive performance out of Cassidy Sandgren, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Sandgren has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was McKenna Nye, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two runs.
Bend was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .632. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .351 or higher in five consecutive games.
Bend's record now sits at 5-6-1. As for Redmond, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
