Basketball Recap: First Coast Christian Comes Up Short

First Coast Christian played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 64-36 loss at the hands of the Impact Christian Academy Lions. The Knights have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, First Coast Christian still got an impressive performance from Skylar Hudson, who posted 14 points. That was a full 38.9% of First Coast Christian's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Kassner, who put up eight points.

Impact Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lavin Savage, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. The contest was Savage's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jalaun Meeks, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

First Coast Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Impact Christian Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-7.

First Coast Christian has already played their next game, a 58-6 win against Varsity Opponent on the 23rd. As for Impact Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 68-23 victory against Global Outreach Charter Academy on the 17th.
