Gulf Coast is 7-0 against Immokalee since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Gulf Coast Sharks will be playing at home against the Immokalee Indians at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Gulf Coast is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Immokalee in Florida (Gulf Coast is ranked 98th, while Immokalee is ranked 491st).
Gulf Coast has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Barron Collier 56-33. Gulf Coast's victory was all the more impressive since Barron Collier was averaging only 23.9 points allowed on the season.
Gulf Coast got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alex Mcdonough out in front who scored 16 points along with five steals. The matchup was Mcdonough's third in a row with at least ten points. Kali Cleary was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Immokalee's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a 33-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clewiston.
Gulf Coast's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Immokalee, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Everything came up roses for Gulf Coast against Immokalee when the teams last played back in November of 2021 as the squad secured a 78-12 win. Does Gulf Coast have another victory up their sleeve, or will Immokalee turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
