Syracuse hasn't had much luck against Layton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Syracuse Titans will be playing at home against the Layton Lancers at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Syracuse's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
Last Friday, Syracuse came up short against Farmington and fell 66-57.

Despite the defeat, Syracuse got top-tier performance from Carter Robinson, who went 8 of 14 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. Robinson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Bradlee Trejo was another key player, going 5 for 10 on his way to 13 points.
Meanwhile, Layton had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They came out on top against the Silverwolves by a score of 58-45. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Silverwolves are ranked 73rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Layton's win came from a few key players Syracuse will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Karter Miller, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists. Those ten assists gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chase Randall, who posted 14 points.
Layton was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fremont only racked up seven assists.
Syracuse's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Layton, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Syracuse has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 24.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Layton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Syracuse came up short against Layton in their previous meeting on January 10th, falling 76-66. Will Syracuse have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
