Eaton Rapids waltzed into their game on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the St. Johns Redwings a 15-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 on Thursday.

Kalli Ordiway made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mallory Smith, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abi Pratt, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Eaton Rapids hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive matchups.

Eaton Rapids' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.4 runs over those games. As for St. Johns, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
